 Nexxus Lighting ILLUMINATES Elements Building and 7STONES SPA
Charlotte, NC – July 10, 2008 – Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: NEXS) today announced that its Advanced Lighting Systems subsidiary completed a lighting project for the six story Elements Building, housing 7Stones Spas and Strega Restaurant in downtown Corvallis, Oregon. The Elements Building is silver-level LEED certified. LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. Corvallis was the first city on the West Coast and only the third city in the nation to receive the Green Power Community designation by the EPA.
“Advanced Lighting’s eLum Cove RGB lighting was used throughout all 3 levels of the spa and the 2 upper levels for the bar and restaurant,” stated Paul Benton, regional Sales manager for Advanced Lighting Systems. “Strega Restaurant, a sustainable restaurant and bar on the 5th and 6th floors, made extensive use of the cove lighting for both decorative and ambient lighting. A star lit ceiling on a cantilevered overhang can be seen for blocks around. Fiber optics were also used in the showers and steam rooms for the day spa, where this type of fixture works well due to the lack of electrical components. The color changing ability of the cove lighting allows the spa therapists to set the mood by simply selecting a color from the control panel in each room.”
