Description
Mega-Glow™
is a cost saving side light fiber optic cable. It’s
concentric structure which yields 10-28% more light is
constructed of multiple 1.0-mm strands bundled and extruded
with in a clear UV stable PVC jacket. The fiber has a
60-degree acceptance angle. Mega-Glow™ cable is
manufactured in five sizes ranging from 7 strands to 91
strands. The amount of transmitted light per cable is
directly proportional to the number of strands within
the cable. Mega-Glow™ is used in pool, fountain
lighting, limousine and other side light applications.
Environment
Mega-Glow™
cables can be used for indoor or outdoor applications.
The PVC jacket contains UV inhibitors, algaecide, and
fungicide. To prevent any deterioration, avoid allowing
moisture between the jacket and fiber bundle. Seal exposed
ends and use a sealed end cap on the cable whenever pushing
or pulling the cable through conduit or pipe. Avoid contact
with sharp objects or abrasive surfaces that might damage
or penetrate the jacket. Cable may be used in direct burial
applications. Avoid allowing the clear jacket to enter
the main ferrule; this may cause overheating.
